INTRODUCTION

National Cancer Society Malaysia’s (NCSM) HPV vaccination programme, “Leaving No One Behind: Eliminating Cervical Cancer in Malaysia,” targets males and females aged 13 to 26 from underserved and rural communities who have not yet been immunised. The mission is to eliminate cervical cancer, the third most common cancer among women in Malaysia, by leveraging the protective benefits of the HPV vaccine.

NCSM has secured an in-kind donation of 300,000 doses of HPV vaccine to be used to complement the Ministry of Health’s teenage school vaccination initiative and focus on communities from various marginalised groups, including:

  • Orang Asal and Orang Asli communities
  • Single mothers
  • Girls in reform centres and prisons
  • Primary school leavers
  • B40 households
  • Disabled individuals at home
  • Remote communities
  • Groups not covered by the local Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia offices

The goal is to ensure all males and females from these underprivileged groups are immunised.

In line with Hibiscus Petroleum’s commitment to raising awareness and contributing to this cause, we have pledged RM103,500 to support this programme. Beginning in May 2024, the programme aims to administer 3,000 vaccines by year-end in 35 locations within our operational areas of Sabah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.

Our collective efforts aim to generate a significant impact on reducing the incidence of cervical cancer, especially among marginalised B40 groups.
