Head of Geology

The Head of Geology will report directly to the Exploration Manager and will lead in geological exploration activities for the subsidiary. This role requires a strong background in petroleum geosciences and leadership experience.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Participate in the preparation of the Exploration and production budget for the subsidiary and be responsible for exploration activities on Block B and other opportunities in Brunei.
• Participate in the definition and supervision of any geological and geophysical studies and interpretation projects on block B as well as geological studies and interpretation projects in any other opportunities in Brunei for the subsidiary.
• Responsible for all geological activities and duties for Block B (MLJ Field), including development and exploration.
• Participate, together with Exploration Manager, in the definition of the strategy of exploration, appraisal and development for Blocks B and other opportunities in Brunei.
• Responsible for designing the exploration and development well programs with Drilling & Wells Department.
• Support all the drilling of development and exploration wells.
• Responsible for subordinates and ensure they deliver quality geological interpretations
• Responsible for handling Call for Tender for external project and internally when required.
• Manage the prospect database, ensuring that it is properly updated and validated.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc in Geology/Petroleum Geosciences or equivalent
• At least 15 years experiences in one or several 2G&R disciplines.
• HSE awareness.
• Experience and ability in people management and team working.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Able to work with others.
• Sound, logical, and rational thinking.
• Strong attention to details.
• Responsive and timely.
• Proactive and able to problem solve effectively.
• Able to work independently, produce accurate and sound deliverables.
• Accountable and takes ownership of own work performance.
• Receptive towards negative feedback and performance management if any.
