Senior Reservoir Engineer

Location: Kuala Lumpur
Job Function: Subsurface
Employment Type: Permanent

The Senior Reservoir Engineer reports directly to Manager, Reservoir Engineering and responsible:

  1. In ensuring that all reservoir engineering evaluations and modelling throughout the exploration and production cycle are technically robust and meet or exceed industry or regulatory standards and requirements. Coordinates interaction with the other subsurface disciplines to ensure all subsurface data are appropriately integrated and utilized for subsurface studies and well planning.
  2. To maximize economic recovery and present value by managing subsurface projects, reserves, production forecasts, costs, and exploration.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Perform reservoir engineering technical assessments in all subsurface modelling studies to enhance production and recovery through infill well drilling and production enhancement opportunities adhering to a prudent Reservoir Management Plan (RMP).
  2. Ensure reservoir engineering studies and reservoir modeling workflows meet or exceed industry and regulatory standards, are fit-for-purpose and with appropriate and effective quality checks in place.
  3. Ensure reserves assessment and long-term production forecasts comply with regulatory and company standards.
  4. Develop and maintain 3D geological dynamic models by integrating subsurface and production data. Conduct history matching for precise reservoir representation and perform prediction, uncertainties, and optimization analysis to identify opportunities for optimal recovery.
  5. Conduct analytical analyses by integrating subsurface and production data to identify opportunities and assess reserves.
  6. Collaborate effectively within the subsurface team consisting of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers and production technologists, as well as in multidisciplinary teams/departments.
  7. Ensure comprehensive understanding and management of all projects undertaken by the organization. Effectively oversee project timelines and ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of objectives such as seismic acquisition/processing, subsurface studies, FFR, FDP, formation evaluation, post-drilling reports and others.
  8. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure all correspondence, presentation materials, reports, and documentation meet the highest technical standards and are submitted promptly.
  9. Coordinate with the drilling group to ensure safe and successful exploration and development drilling campaigns. Provide expertise and knowledge to identify drilling risks and geohazards and provide solutions to mitigate these risks.
  10. Participate in data rooms, compile, and analyze geoscience subsurface and engineering data to provide technical recommendations of opportunities on offer
  11. Mentor and coach reservoir engineers in the team to achieve full potential.
