DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production/Sr. Production, Technologist reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Reservoir Surveillance & Optimisation and responsible:

  • For overall production technology from reservoir to well level. 
  • To optimize production of oil and gas at an optimum level, increasing the value of the asset on a daily basis.
  • To act as the main technical support for petroleum engineering, well technology and special studies.

For well diagnostic and troubleshooting, focal point for well intervention activities, well surveys and diagnostics.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct well performance analysis and integrated well modelling analysis to identify production enhancement activities such as gas lift optimization, adding perforation, water shut-off/conformance, behind casing opportunities.
  • Conduct technology screening, identify, evaluate and propose innovative production technology strategies to enhance production performance.
  • Support subsurface objectives and development planning activities. 
  • Work closely with other technical personnel in specific studies such as production network modelling, completion design & strategy, sand control/management, tighter reservoirs stimulation techniques, flow assurance, ICD/ICV, de-bottlenecking study, back pressure study, compressor sizing and system optimization related to IOR/EOR projects.
  • Collaborate with reservoir team to maintain and update petroleum engineering database for use in wells and reservoirs performance evaluation and studies. This includes well intervention program and reports, production test data, well & production operations history, production logging, pressure surveys / PBUs data, gas lift & idle wells inventory.

Additional responsibilities for Senior Roles

  • Provide technical support and guideline for well abandonment selection.
  • To support wells team on production technology contracting strategy.
  • To evaluate and design the optimum well Artificial Systems to enhance HC recovery.

Additional Leadership Accountabilities for Senior Roles

  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior team member, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Assign tasks and projects to team members based on their strengths and development needs, ensuring efficient workflow and balanced workloads.
  • Assist team members in resolving complex issues or challenges, offering strategic insights and solutions to ensure project success.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between the team and management, effectively communicating team progress, challenges, and needs.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent qualification from recognized universities/academic institution.
  • For Production Position: Possess 0-5 years of experience in metering and instrumentation, preferably in oil and gas.
  • For Sr. Production Position: Possess 5-10 years of experience in metering and instrumentation, preferably in oil and gas.
  • Advanced user in Petroleum Experts IPM suite of modelling tools (i.e. GAP, PROSPER, MBAL), WinGLUE, and OFM.
  • Experience in gas lift optimization, gas lift design, ESP completions monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in production enhancement and remedial work such as water shut off, gas shut off, well stimulation.
  • Experience in well work activities including slickline, Eline and coil tubing unit operations.
  • Experience in brownfields FDP/FFR, production chemistry, sand control/management design, conceptual completion design, tubing stress analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of flow dynamics, near wellbore damage behaviours and flow assurance in relations to any FDP/FFR development project
  • Experience in conducting technology screening and ability to challenge existing design and well operational processes in order to apply best technologies and practices / minimize operating costs.
  • Experience supervising offshore activities related to Well Engineering
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to deliver in a timely fashion all required work scope.
  • Ability to work and communicate with different departments (studies, offshore, operations, MPM and PCSB)
