DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery and support of monthly financial closing processes, completion of financial reporting packages and analysis regarding the business results. 
  • Responsible for the General & Admin/Corporate type of accounts, cost allocation and financial reporting to HPB Group (including assisting HPB Group in queries from both internal and external parties).
  • Prepare functional costs allocation for shareable & non-recoverable costs for General & Admin accounts;
  • Review system forex revaluation report and forex reasonableness test;
  • Review leases contract and prepare MFRS16 Leases related working computation ;
  • Complete key accounts reconciliation and analysis at monthly basis, including inventory and asset; monitoring and clear open items in working capital accounts;
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness for recurring and non-recurring transactions;
  • Support for the preparation and timely submission of all IFRS compliant financial statements including relevant analytical reviews for monthly and quarterly for reporting to HPB Group;
  • Support for Bank Negara Malaysia, KLSE (Bursa) and other government authorities reporting as required;
  • Liaison with external auditors with regards to annual statutory audits and any ad-hoc audits;
  • Liaison with internal auditors and company secretary for required statutory requirements;
  • SUN automation to improve processes in terms of accuracy and efficiency;
  • Assist in financial evaluations for Tender/Procurement purposes;
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and Group policies; 
  • Responsible for instituting internal controls and checks over custody of PSC assets (Fixed Assets, Materials, Spares & Supplies);
  • Assist PSC risk assessment and insurance placement.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as prescribed by superiors and to assist in achieving Finance Department’s objectives.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Accounting with at least 4-6 years’ experience in general accounting or of similar capacity.
  • Prior experience as an external auditor in reputable audit multinational firms will be an advantage.
  • A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA ANZ, ICAEW, ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Experience within the upstream oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, MFRS and accounting and applied financial theory.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Proficiency in SUN, Sigma and Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word) applications would be a strong plus.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, strong analytical and financial analysis capabilities, high attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
