The Senior Cost Controller is accountable in monitoring and do follow up on expenditures against approved budgets, ensuring proper allocation and compliance with the company processes and procedures. The jobholder is also responsible to ensure adherence to all relevant Group accounting policies and standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor and check expenditures (At the time of requisition) before commitments (Purchase Orders/contracts) to ensure expenditures are:

- Within approved budget
- Correctly allocated to the cost nature and cost centres.
- Follow-up on the inter-company charges from the Group (approval and their allocation).
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and its supporting documentation, and continuous monitoring on their revisions.
- Contribute to the month-end/year-end reporting by providing accurate accruals on the various operations.
- Prepare and issue the Cost control reports to the relevant parties, with proper analysis.
- Prepare the necessary analysis to support the monthly and quarterly reporting packages to Head Office.
- Provide the relevant matrices to be included in public announcements.
- Provide related information required for submission to Board of Directors and others.
- Assist Head of Cost Control & reporting on any ad hoc reporting requirement.
- Oversee related activities (including periodic closure) in the ERP system and involve in the implementation of changes or upgrades.
- Ensure proper and up-to-date ERP master data, especially cost centres.
- Provide assistance to resolve any issues in ERP system.
- Prepare and update cost control procedures and detailed work processes.
- Develop and implement strategies for improvement within cost control and reporting.
- Coach and support the cost control team members on related processes, both in and out of ERP.
- Contribute to audit requests and partners’ queries when required.
- Act for Head of Cost Control & Reporting during his/her absence.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in related positionÂ
- Strong team management skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in ERP tool (like SAP, SunSystems) is required.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is an advantage.
