DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Lead, Business Analysis reports directly to the Senior Manager, Planning & Business Analysis
  • Position is responsible for overseeing various project implementation, which includes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Additionally, the role involves liaising with corporate teams to provide for corporate or/and company-wide initiatives.
  • Mentor and On-job-training for other personnel to build staffs capability to produce high quality outputs.
  • Lead approvals from the Hibiscus Board, Host Authorities, and JV Partners on Special Projects, ensuring adherence to LOA and correct governance for cost recoverability and shareability.
  • Manage Critical Special Projects by strategizing and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Support Hibiscus’ extension and growth by developing and implementing commercial strategies, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for current and future agreements to ensure the company’s interests are protected and advanced.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a commercial and negotiation role with a comprehensive understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and network effectively. 
  • Familiarity with the Malaysian PSC terms, JOAs, and Work Program & Budget work processes 
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. 
  • Adaptability to changing conditions. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Good presentation skills and ability to simplify complex messages for effective decision-making by management. 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience leading and motivating teams, delegating tasks effectively, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and make sound decisions based on thorough analysis and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to think strategically and contribute to the development of long-term business plans and strategies.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting processes, and financial analysis techniques specific to the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
