The Data Analyst Intern will support the InfoTech & Digitalisation department by assisting in the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets to help drive strategic decisions and optimise operations within the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will need to have a foundational understanding of data analysis, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Interns must be available to start in March 2025. Interns will be given a monthly allowance. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email/phone call.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in collecting, processing, and analysing datasets from various sources within the company.
- Help develop and maintain data models, databases, and reporting systems to support business operations.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Create and present detailed reports and visualisations to stakeholders under supervision.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data analysis and oil and gas.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a current CGPA of 3.2 and above.
- Basic understanding of data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel).
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team player.
- Knowledge of data governance and data management principles is a plus.
- Interest in the oil and gas industry operations and terminology.
