Head of Accounts Payable

The Head of Accounts Payable is accountable in managing the daily functions of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring compliance with the company process and procedures.  The jobholder is also responsible in ensuring all financial obligations to suppliers and other parties are met in accordance with their respective contracts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate the overall Accounts Payable activities.
• Develop and implement strategies for improvement within Accounts Payable.
• Monitor performance on invoices and/or expense claims to ensure timely and accurate processing and settlement
• Follow-up on Accounts Payable aging status
• Support on vendor statements of accounts reconciliation
• Manage and resolve any issues or discrepancies with vendors.
• Support short-term cash flow forecast
• Oversee the related activities in the ERP system, including resolving any issues in the tool.
• Provide training and support to team members on Accounts Payable related processes, both in and out of ERP.
• Maintain proper and up to date vendor master data record.
• Assist in audit matters related to Accounts Payable.
• Ensure proper filing and archiving of invoices and/or expense claims and their related supporting documentation – in accordance with the appropriate retention period.
• Report regularly to the Finance Manager on progress and performance within Accounts Payable.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting related position with supervisory role.
• Strong team management skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in ERP tool (like SAP, SunSystems) is required
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is an advantage
