Analyst, IT Applications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Analyst, IT Applications works with clients to understand their business processes and requirements and then recommends, configuring, and implementing software solutions that meet their needs. 
• The application consultant role should have a strong understanding of software development methodologies, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience with software implementation and support. They should also have a background in working with clients to identify business requirements and recommend solutions that improve their operations. In addition, knowledge of specific software products or technologies may be required depending on the industry and client needs. 
• The scope is focused on providing functional and technical support for IT business applications for the business unit.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Understanding client requirements and business processes and translating them into technical specifications for software solutions.
• Configuring and customizing software solutions to meet client needs.
• Conducting system testing, documentation, and training of end-users on the software solution.
• Providing technical support to clients during the implementation process and post-implementation.
• Collaborating with internal development teams to identify areas of improvement in the software solutions.
• Conducting workshops and presentations to educate clients on best practices and new features.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Continuously learn and keep up to date with the latest software technologies and trends.
• Responsible for IT application support activities including maintenance, administration, BAU support and project implementation.
• Work closely with internal support team, software principal and business users to provide operational support and to ensure timely and efficient resolution of IT application-related incidents and service requests.
• Work closely with business users to understand their requirements, proposing and defining potential solutions, facilitating the design of IT solutions and deployment to contribute to business strategy.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT equivalent.
• Familiar with programming skills such as .Net framework, ASP .net, Java, SQL language, Visual Basic is an added advantage.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in handling PI Historian tools, OpenWell and/or other Oil & Gas industry related applications.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in application support, database (Oracle & MS SQL Server) and system troubleshooting.
• Actively listens and asks business questions until he/she identifies and understands the real needs in depth instead of transcribing the requirements.
• Challenges without fear, but with assertiveness, the approaches of the business proposing new ways of doing things without losing focus on the objectives, maintaining a collaborative and open mentality.

• Proficient in English for both verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong technical skills, including experience with software development methodologies, programming languages, databases, and operating systems.
• Experienced in implementation of IT Integration project either in SDLC or Agile methodology.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in application support, SQL database (Oracle & MS SQL Server) and system troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Oil & Gas industry related applications is an added advantage.
• 3+ years of experience in software implementation and support, preferably in a consulting or customer-facing role.
