DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Advisor Mechanical Rotating is responsible for the management of change of mechanical related application in the facilities for Mechanical engineering designs, associated calculations and specifications required for offshore oil and gas production facilities.
- The Advisor Mechanical Rotating provides design inputs and assurance for all mechanical rotating equipment change or deviation request to ensure the design, integrity and safety of all equipment related field are intact, and complying with standard technical specifications (PETRONAS Technical Specification (PTS) and International Standards, i.e. (IEC) operating within the design boundary conditions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform duty as Technical Advisor for mechanical rotating equipment i.e. pumps, compressors, and turbomachinery as well as knowledgeable in static equipment.
- Develop and update Rotating Equipment Design Basis and packages for newly built & retrofit for COMPANY.
- Ensure all modifications in relation to COMPANY specification, procedures and related facilities are correctly designed to the applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with other discipline and engineering contractor companies in relation to detailed engineering activities.
- Provide support for construction activities and delivery of modification works of Company’s offshore facilities, currently in operations. This includes aspects of project management ensuring that delivery is in line with design specification, procurement procedures, and offshore installation.
- Provide technical input in Management of Change and Technical Query (TQ) for mechanical rotating areas.
- Drive feasibility studies and recommend conceptual design options for facilities upgrading and modification. This includes performing detailed data analysis, rotating equipment selection / sizing and technical reports, etc.Â
- Participate in project technical reviews (e.g. Risk Assessment, HAZID, HAZOP, etc.) and review proposals for new or changed operating procedures in area of expertise to ensure efficient and economic operations.Â
- Drive and participate in investigation / troubleshooting / root cause analysis for rotating equipment and propose solutions.
- Manage change modification works/ projects as Discipline Engineer covering the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) cycle which may involve the supervision of external contractors and consultants. Ensure all modification jobs are executed within approved MOC and work pack.Â
- Provide cost estimation on rotating equipment for any modification job or projects.Â
- Liaise with vendor and OEM on equipment selection database and latest technology.
- Provide technical advice on mechanical related issues.
- Prepare Equipment Technical Requisition Package as per Company Specification and Industrial CODE and Standard
- Review Vendor Proposal and prepare Technical Bid Evaluations during Bid Stage
- Review Vendor Documents and Deliverables
- Ensure the equipment delivery / project will be completed based on schedule and within budget (cost control).
- Coordination activity (with offshore team, maintenance team, operation team, warehouse team, construction team etc.), project management, cost estimation, planning, cost control, commissioning up to mechanical handover.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from recognized universities.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 15 years working experience in Mechanical Engineering design and operations of equipment’s and facilities with at least 10 years in oil and gas field.
- Strong technical knowledge in Mechanical Engineering Design of offshore equipment.
- Strong Technical knowledge and experience in Greenfield and Brownfield projects in Oil & Gas.
- Knowledgeable with technical engineering design in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong experience in project management, coordination, and construction supervision in onshore and offshore environment
- Experienced working in project management.
- Experienced in installation, testing and commissioning.
- Understand and adhere with local, international engineering code & specifications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledgeable of the principle of hydrocarbon allocation from terminal to reservoir
